Spain bans officially implemented this month

Since July 1st this year, Spain's environmental protection bill for reducing plastic bags has been formally implemented.

According to the bill, businesses will prohibit the supply of free plastic bags to customers, and plastic bags will be charged according to the thickness. It will charge each bag 0.05 euros if less than 15 microns, each will charge 0.15 euros if more than 15 microns .

Then, is it necessary to charge all plastic bags? Though the answer is negative, only one is free.

The Spanish government still allows free use of ultra-thin plastic bags for supermarkets, fruit shops and seafood shops in bulk food areas, but the usage is limited. According to the Spanish government's environmental objectives: all plastic bags under 50 microns will be banned from 2021.

Most of the plastic bags are not easy to be degraded naturally by natural microorganisms. Deep buried land will change the acidity and alkalinity of the land, affect the crops to absorb nutrients and water, and lead to the reduction of agricultural production. The harmful dust and toxic gases generated by incineration also cause air pollution.
